As part of the SkopjeLab — City of Skopje Innovation Center project, we developed the NGO Register: a civic web platform that makes the civil society sector in North Macedonia more visible, searchable, and connected.
The platform was built for SmartUp - Social Innovation Lab and serves citizens, NGOs, donors, and public institutions looking to engage with or map the active non-governmental landscape across the country.
Key features we designed and built:
- Searchable Directory: Users can browse and filter organizations, calls for funding, donors, and events by category — from democracy and human rights to environment, education, and youth.
- Interactive Map: A full map view of activities and organizations, allowing location-based discovery across North Macedonia.
- User Dashboard: Registered users can manage their own organization listings, submit new activities, send messages, and track saved content — all from a personal control panel.
- Multi-role Access: The platform supports public browsing alongside authenticated user accounts, enabling NGOs to self-manage their presence in the registry.
- Calls & Donors Hub: A dedicated section aggregating open funding calls and active donor organizations, making it easier for NGOs to find resources.
The result is a living directory that strengthens civic participation and inter-sector collaboration — giving Skopje's civil society the digital infrastructure it needed.
